Chief Ronald Martin Jr.

Chief From 2007-2010 and 2018-present
Ron has held many positions within the department including, Lieutenant, Captain,
2nd Assistant Chief, 1st Assistant Chief and now Chief. Ron started in the fire
service as an Explorer back in 1983 and comes from a generational background of
Volunteering as his father and mother were both active in the fire department. With
over 30 years dedicated to the Fire service Ron also was an EMT and responded with
the Village of Oxford Emergency Squad.
Ron has taken numerous NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control courses, hundreds of
other on-line and FEMA courses. Ron was a previous 911 telecommunicator for Chenango
County Emergency Communications System and Superior Ambulance. Ron also worked as a
patrol officer for the Village of Oxford and Village of Greene and was promoted to
Sergeant and now enjoys his retirement from Law enforcement and vests his time into
the Fire Service.
