Chief Ronald Martin Jr.

Joined 1984

Chief From 2007-2010 and 2018-present

Ron has held many positions within the department including, Lieutenant, Captain, 2nd Assistant Chief, 1st Assistant Chief and now Chief. Ron started in the fire service as an Explorer back in 1983 and comes from a generational background of Volunteering as his father and mother were both active in the fire department. With over 30 years dedicated to the Fire service Ron also was an EMT and responded with the Village of Oxford Emergency Squad.

Ron has taken numerous NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control courses, hundreds of other on-line and FEMA courses. Ron was a previous 911 telecommunicator for Chenango County Emergency Communications System and Superior Ambulance. Ron also worked as a patrol officer for the Village of Oxford and Village of Greene and was promoted to Sergeant and now enjoys his retirement from Law enforcement and vests his time into the Fire Service.

Shane Ingraham

Joined 1981

1st Assistant Chief

Shane holds the position of 1st Assistant Chief and has done so since 5/1/2001 and currently functions as operations sector Chief. He also is a generational firefighter as his father had a long career in the Volunteer Fire service. Shane has completed numerous New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Courses as well as numerous on-line generated courses.

Shane has 2 sons who are also active in emergency services. Shane is a long time employee of NYS Department of Transportation and is currently a Supervisor.

Timothy McGowan

Joined 1980

2nd Assistant Chief

Tim started his career in the Volunteer fire service in 1980 and has held nearly every position within the department. Tim comes from a generational background of Emergency Service providers as well. He and his wife Connie are often working together on many different Fire Department functions.

Tim has numerous New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Courses and provides a solid background in fire operations and water supply. Tim spends many hours volunteering for other community organizations. Tim had a long career with the NYS Veteran’s Home and is now enjoying retirement.
